Someone wasn’t paying attention – the Xiaomi 15T phones were scheduled for today, the Xiaomi 17-series will be unveiled tomorrow. Instead, this online shop posted the Xiaomi 17 Pro Max today. Oh well, mix-ups happen.
Unfortunately, it seems that the specs haven’t been updated – the text reads like it comes from the Xiaomi 15 Pro instead. To clear up the naming, the Pro Max is the new name that Xiaomi will use for its large flagship, which was previously called just “Pro” (also it is skipping the number 16).
There is a Xiaomi 17 Pro on the way too, but that is going to be a more premium version of the small 6.3” model. Both Pro models will have displays on the backs, making the camera island that much more useful and a bit more attractive.
So, we know that at least the images posted by the store are the real deal, showing the Xiaomi 17 Pro Max in three colors. There should be at least one more color, purple, but it’s not available at this store – perhaps not available in Kazakhstan in general, which is where this store is based.

We’re not sure whether the price was updated or not – it’s listed as RUB 73,000, which is the exact same price as the Xiaomi 15 Pro. Keeping the price the same makes sense, though it might be yet another detail that the store hasn’t updated yet.
This price converts to $870, by the way, which matches what we’ve heard officially – the Pro Max price will be between CNY 6,000 and CNY 7,000 (that’s a range of $850 to $1,000). The Xiaomi 15 Pro was CNY 5,300 at launch ($740 at the time).
Xiaomi’s event tomorrow is scheduled for 11AM UTC.
