Sue Storm & Mole Man Strike a Deal in Deleted Scene for MCU Movie

A new deleted scene from The Fantastic Four: First Steps has been released.

The new Fantastic Four movie was released in United States theaters this past July. Directed by Matt Shakman, the Marvel film stars Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards/Mister Fantastic, Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm/Invisible Woman, Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm/The Thing, Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm/Human Torch, and Paul Walter Hauser as Harvey Elder/Mole Man.

What happens in the Fantastic Four deleted scene?

Shared by USA Today, the Fantastic Four: First Steps deleted scene sees Kirby’s MCU character travel deep underground to meet with Mole Man. After becoming invisible in order to get a face-to-face meeting with him, the two briefly exchange threats before they come to a mutual agreement regarding how to deal with an issue involving bursting sewer pipes.

On Letterboxd, Hauser previously said that there was a moment — presumably this one — shared between him and Kirby that he wished had made it into the final cut of the movie. He wrote, “I love the score, the production design, the performances. I wish they hadn’t cut my scene with Vanessa Kirby, but I’m stoked that I got to be in a Marvel movie (first world problem shit; I’m spoiled rotten to get to act). Excited to follow the Franklin story!!!”

The synopsis for the movie reads, “Set against the vibrant backdrop of a 1960s-inspired, retro-futuristic world, Marvel Studios’ The Fantastic Four: First Steps introduces Marvel’s First Family—Reed Richards/Mister Fantastic (Pedro Pascal), Sue Storm/Invisible Woman (Vanessa Kirby), Johnny Storm/Human Torch (Joseph Quinn) and Ben Grimm/The Thing (Ebon Moss-Bachrach) as they face their most daunting challenge yet. Forced to balance their roles as heroes with the strength of their family bond, they must defend Earth from a ravenous space god called Galactus (Ralph Ineson) and his enigmatic Herald, Silver Surfer (Julia Garner). And if Galactus’ plan to devour the entire planet and everyone on it weren’t bad enough, it suddenly gets very personal.”

The Fantastic Four: First Steps arrives on digital retail platforms on September 23, 2025. It will then be available to purchase on 4K UHD, Blu-ray, and DVD on October 14, 2025.
