Let’s be honest, flying kind of sucks in the United States and it only seems to be getting worse – but why? It didn’t always used to be this way. During the early days of commercial flights during the 1950s, flying was a luxury experience. Seats were roomy and comfortable, airline food was hot and delicious, and being a flight attendant was one of the most coveted jobs in the world. Of course, there was one big drawback to this – flying was expensive. So expensive, in fact, that it was largely just a luxury experience for the rich. Then it got cheaper, it got more efficient, and it got safer.
