Packaged web apps are an attempt to “deliver an experience as capable as a native app, but as safe as a web page”. This dream is being realized across desktop platforms with chrome, but what about mobile? Google thinks the answer lies with Cordova, and we’ve been working this past year to help make that a reality. In this talk, I will show you how to (a) get started with mobile chrome apps without breaking a sweat, and (b) take advantage of some of the cool stuff we’ve built in plain old vanilla cordova.

I work for the Chrome team at Google, in Waterloo, Canada. For the past year, I’ve been having a blast contributing to Cordova and building tools to help port Chrome Packaged Apps to iOS/Android. Prior to that I worked on Chrome Graphics/Compositor and Gpu Memory Management, focusing on the Chromebook Pixel!.
